I'm a therapist, but you might also call me an awakener of the emotional spirit, a cheerleader through difficulty, and a nurturer of the broken heart and soul. I help people who want to discover joy, happiness, and peace in their current circumstances but are buried under the overwhelming expectations of life. I support people to live in alignment with their personal values so that they can experience confidence and serenity in living an authentic version of themselves.
Since a young age, I always was interested in hearing people talk about their problems and was intrigued by psychology. Through the years, I followed my heart and know a career in therapy is truly my calling in life. I feel privileged to do work which allows for me to be a part of peoples' individual journeys of healing. In my personal life journey as a bi-racial woman, a mother and dog companion, I have developed an understanding for how we are all in a constant process of personal growth leading us to a healthier and more satisfying version of self.
I believe our life hardships help us find and live out purpose. In practicing self-compassion and understanding we heal the heart and spirit so that we may change the world for the better.
I hope you will reach out through e-mail or a phone call and sign up for my newsletter to continue your life journey of emotional and mental healing.
I moved from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Portland, Oregon in 2003 for the counseling program at Lewis & Clark Graduate School, and in 2007 I began working as a counselor in the world of nonprofits. I learned about addiction, child and teen struggles, family hardships, and disordered eating through my experiences working in residential programs, schools, and hospitals.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oregon, and I opened up my own private practice in 2017 so that I could be more present for my children.
In addition to counseling, I enjoy education and am currently teaching as adjunct faculty at Lewis & Clark Graduate School. I create workshops, presentations, and ecourses for groups and individuals wanting to learn more about disordered eating, adolescents, parenting, and cultural competency.
